On October 11 the messengers and guests from our Appalachee Association churches will gather at Bethabara Baptist Church for our Annual Meeting. We are planning something very different and exciting this year. We will handle our necessary business but the main part of our afternoon meeting will include a seminar on keeping the young people in our churches after they leave home. Dr. Tom Crites from the Georgia Baptist Mission Board will be with us to lead this seminar. he has co-written a book entitled “Why They Stay” with Dr. Steve Parr and copies of this book will be made available to each church represented.
Then in the evening we will led in worship by Ministers of Music from some of our Oconee churches – Bethabara, Mars Hill, and Briarwood. Our preacher for the evening is Dr. David Mills, pastor at Beech Haven Baptist Church. So plan now to be with us for this great day of learning and worship.
