The Appalachee Baptist Association will join with Georgia Baptist churches all across our state to provide more than 30,000 backpacks this year for needy children in Appalachia. This ministry has proven to make a huge impact for Christ among families in this needy region of our country. Each child that receives a backpack also receives a clear presentation of the Christmas story and learns the true meaning of this season. This is a chance to make a difference in one child’s life for eternity.
Our goal this year is 800 Backpacks from the churches in our association. We have adopted three ministries in Eastern Kentucky to serve this year and a team from our association will deliver the backpacks to these ministry sites.
Information has been sent to every church regarding how to pack a backpack and what to place inside. The Association office in Monroe will serve as a collection center for the backpacks as they are prepared. Watch our web site, Facebook page and newsletter for more information in the coming weeks.
